Current Season

Vallejo Music theatre remains committed to bringing Musicals and Education in the Arts to the community.

In 2008, the City of Vallejo became the first city in the country to declare bankruptcy as a result of the economic crash. As a result, Vallejo Music Theatre lost much of its annual funding in 2009, and is facing a huge shortfall in 2010. We’ve been struggling to make ends meet, and like many other excellent theaters around the country, we are now in real danger of having to close our doors. Do to the economic downturn we have faced some tough decisions. Because of our financial situation, and because during this time of crisis in California’s education system, we have chosen to concentrate on the VMT educational program for children and creating fundraisers to raise money for the season in 2011.

We will not be producing a full Broadway musical this year but will be producing smaller plays and performances in order to teach Vallejo’s youth to love theatre through the Vallejo Music Theaters Junior University.

Below are the special events that in early stages of planning. See the Special Events Page in order to learn more about each.
